About a week ago Nintendo, one of the world's most famous and successful gaming companies of all time, released a video in which Masahiro Sakurai, lead director of the 4th and highly anticapated installment of the Super Smash Bros series, talked about what to expect from the game (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xUWnQu2Grs). There is a lot to cover, so I will just focus on a two major things.
Release Date
The release dates (that's right, dates) have been confirmed, the 3DS to be released this Summer, while the Wii U version is to be released this Winter. In this writer's opinon, I find this to be odd, as well as the fact that the game will be released on two consles (This is the first in the series to do so).
Differences between versions
First off, I will point out that both the 3DS version and the Wii U version will have the full character roster. What is different, however, are the stages that the player can choose from. All stages (except Final Destination and Battlefield) will be different. The 3DS version will have stages which focus around games from the handheld games( EX: Spirit Train and Reset Bomb Forest), while the Wii U version will contain stages from Wii games(EX: Mario Galaxy and Skyloft).
